In the past, Megan has stated that she doesn't want Cam to see Star Wars until he's 6 years old. OK - I can agree with that - but then one day (while she was out of the house at a photo shoot) I thought - you know, "There's lots of Star Wars that's NOT violent. Maybe I could just show those parts to Campbell."

So I did.

And he loved it.

He especially loved Chewbacca. Which made me SOOO happy.

Shortly after that, Megan and Campbell were finger-painting, and when I got home, Megan said "Campbell, tell Daddy what that brown painting is" and he said "It's CHEWIE!"

Soooo...I went down in the basement and dug out my 30-year old stuffed Chewbacca doll, brushed out the tangles and gave it to him. I told him, "Campbell, an old friend of mine has come to visit with you! He was my friend when I was a little boy, and now he wants to be your new friend."

When he saw Chewie on his bed, he was really excited! But he wouldn't pick him up. Now since Campbell's been having some sleeping issues lately, I thought of something that might help and told him, "Now Campbell, Chewie's really strong and tough, so he'll keep away all those scary meteors, dragons and toucans (don't ask) – right?"

Cam said "Yeah!"

So here's a picture of Cam and one of me to prove that Chewie really is 30 years old.

 

I'd much rather Campbell love him than sell it on eBay.
