Part of the tragedy
of the defeat at Culloden was the tactical blunders that
cemented their defeat. One of the Highlander's most devasting
weapons was their Highland Charge. They would come tearing
down out of the hills, swords slashing and screaming at
the top of their lungs. For some reason, one of Prince Charlie's
military advisors suggested they pick the moors of Culloden
for the battle - a wet mud pit with brambles that tore at
their legs. Unfortunately, the Jacobites were cut down before
they even got close to the British.
